Resum:	Este artículo pretende aportar conocimiento sobre la estructura de la comunicación empresarial, tomando como referencia los modelos provenientes de fuentes secundarias y una investigación empírica de carácter cualitativo. A partir de una muestra de 22 empresas (11 de consumo y 11 de servicios) se estudia qué denominación se le proporciona al responsable de comunicación y al departamento que representa, de quién depende jerárquicamente en el organigrama de la empresa o a quién reporta, cómo definen el modelo de comunicación que implementan y qué tipos de comunicación son coordinados y gestionados por esta figura responsable de la comunicación en la empresa.
Resum:	This article tries to throw light on the communication management structure taking as a reference the models from secondary sources and an empirical research of qualitative character. From a sample of 22 companies (11 of consumption and 11 of services) it is studied the denomination provided to the person in charge of communication and to the department that represents, who is the person of the company she or he reports with, how they define the communication model that they implement and what types of communication are coordinated and managed by the figure in charge of the communication in the company.
