Este trabajo presenta el análisis de cuarenta y cuatro relaciones de sucesos impresas en pliegos sueltos y algunas en formato libro que tratan sobre el Cardenal Infante don Fernando de Austria durante diez años (1632-1642). Relatan su viaje desde Madrid hasta Bruselas, pasando por territorios europeos inmersos en la Guerra de los Treinta Años, algunas de sus intervenciones bélicas, sus entradas triunfales en Amberes y Gante tras el éxito en la batalla de Nördlingen en 1634 y finalmente, su muerte en Bruselas el 9 de noviembre de 1641. Se indaga sobre los responsables de la difusión de esas noticias y los intereses que pudieron tener en ello. |

This paper presents the analysis of forty-four news pamphlets, as well as some news published in book form, that deal with the Cardinal Infante Don Ferdinand of Austria, the brother of King Philip IV of Spain, during the ten years from 1632 to 1642. These news pamphlets give details about his journey from Madrid to Brussels, travelling through European territories immersed in the Thirty Years War, some of his military activities, his triumphal entries into Antwerp and Ghent after his success at the Battle of Nördlingen in 1634, and finally his death in Brussels on November 9, 1641. The paper asks who was responsible for the dissemination of this news and what intentions lay behind its publication. |
