Abstract: The interest towards the codex fragments emerges in Europe as well as in our Country during the XIX C. The fist catalan researches who proposed a systematic study, was Pere Pujol Tubau. Many are the works dedicated to this field from the beginning of the century till our days. Those codex have been considered of a major interest in the fields of history' of scripture, art, literature and philology and other sciences such as liturgy. In short, the study of fragments allows a much more solid and fundamental knowledge of the cultural history of the country that keeps them and also about Other countries with which has had relationship. Thus the need for the archivists and librarians to keep and catalogue the fragment collections recording a minimum of essential data to increase its usefulness.
