El 'formante del cantante' es un fenómeno que ocurre a causa de una agrupación inusual del tercer, cuarto y quinto formante en voces cantantes con un entrenamiento vocal exhaustivo. El propósito de este trabajo es la investigación de la posible aparición de este formante, no solo en cantantes, sino también en no cantantes, diferenciando los datos entre muestras de habla y canto. Asimismo, también se ha enfocado el estudio del formante en voces fuera del ámbito de la lírica/ópera, optando por un acercamiento desde la música pop. El procedimiento que se ha seguido es el análisis (Fast Fourier Transform, FFT) de los picos más altos de dos franjas de frecuencia (0-2000Hz y 2000-4000Hz) y de la diferencia entre estas, lo que se conoce como Singing Power Ratio (SPR). A partir de estos análisis y de la comparación del SPR, considerado una medida cuantitativa que define la calidad de la voz cantada, se concluirá la posible manifestación del formante del cantante en las muestras obtenidas para esta investigación. |

The 'singer's formant' is a phenomenon that occurs because of an unusual clustering of the third, fourth and fifth formants in singing voices with an extensive vocal training. The purpose of this study is to investigate a possible appearance of this singer's formant not only in singers, but also in non-singers, differentiating the data between speech and sung samples. Additionally, the focus has also been put on the study of the formant in pop music voices instead of the usual approach from opera/classical music voices. The procedure followed is the analysis (Fast Fourier Transform, FFT) of the greatest peaks in two regions of frequency (0-2000Hz and 2000-4000Hz) and the ratio between them, known as the Singing Power Ratio (SPR), which is considered a quantitative measure that defines the quality of the sung voice. Finally, the possible manifestation of the singer's formant in the samples obtained for this research will be concluded based on the results of the analyses mentioned above and the comparison of the SPR data. |
