Resum:	Este artículo se basa en el supuesto de que la semiótica de C. S. Peirce hace falta en la lista de ciencias que componen la ciencia cognitiva. Para dar munición a este supuesto, el artículo discute algunos temas capaces de mostrar lo que la semiótica puede ofrecer a la ciencia cognitiva para contribuir en la superación de temas controvertidos, así como en el desarrollo de conceptos relevantes para la ciencia cognitiva, como el concepto de cognición el mismo y los conceptos de conciencia, representación, pensamiento, etc. Dada la complejidad de los temas, el artículo tiene el carácter de una propuesta que busca presentarse como coherente e invitante para el desarrollo de proyectos futuros.
Resum:	This article assumes that C. S. Peirce's semiotics is missing from the list of sciences that make up the cognitive sciences. To give ammunition to this assumption, the article discusses some topics capable of showing what semiotics can offer to cognitive science in order to contribute in overcoming controversial issues as well as in the development of concepts relevant to cognitive science, such as the concept of cognition itself and the concepts of consciousness, representation, thought etc. Given the complexity of the issues, the article has the character of a proposal that seeks to present itself as coherent and inviting for the development of future projects.
