We establish an algebraic version of the classical result that a G-map f between G-complexes which restricts to a homotopy equivalence fH on H-xed sets for all subgroups H of G is a G-ho-motopy equivalence. [...]

8 p, 254.6 KB Le problème de Helmoltz pour des obstacles peu réguliers / Erba, Carole (Université d'Orléans) ; Weber, Régine (Université d'Orléans. Institut PRISME) ; Zinsmeister, Michel (Université d'Orléans)
The classical Helmholtz model for wakes behind an obstacle in perfect fluid mechanics boils down in complex analysis into a Riemann problem with free boundary, the free boundary being the wake and being such that the Riemann map parametrizes it as arclength parametrization. [...]

We develop a general theory for asymptotically CAT(0) groups; these are groups acting geometrically on a geodesic space, all of whose asymptotic cones are CAT(0).

29 p, 260.2 KB Homogeneous subsets of a Lipschitz graph and the Corona Theorem / Newdelman, Brady Max (University of California (Estats Units d'Amèrica). Department of Mathematics)
This paper proves the Corona Theorem to be affirmative for domains in the complex plane bounded by thick subsets of a Lipschitz graph. Specifically, the boundary of these domains E0 has a Carleson lower density: ∧ ( B(z, r) ∩ E0) > є 0r for all z ∈ E0 and all r > 0.

28 p, 438.2 KB Riesz transforms associated to Schrödinger operators with negative potentials / Assaad, Joyce (Université Bordeaux 1. Institut de Mathématiques)
The goal of this paper is to study the Riesz transforms ∇ A-1/2 where A is the Schrödinger operator - ∆ - V, V ≥ 0, under different conditions on the potential V . We prove that if V is strongly subcritical, ∇ A-1/2 is bounded on Lp(RN), N ≥ 3, for all p є (p'0 ; 2] where p'0 is the dual exponent of p0 where 2 < 2N/N-2 < p0 < ∞; and we give a counterexample to the boundedness on Lp (RN) for p є (1;p'0) ∪ (p0*;∞) where p0* :=poN/N+po is the reverse Sobolev exponent of p0. Centre of Mathematics for Applications) ; Petitta, Francesco (Universitat de València. Departament d'Anàlisi Matemàtica) ; Ulusoy, Suleyman (University of Maryland. Center for Scientific Computation and Mathematical Modeling)
We describe a duality method to prove both existence and uniqueness of solutions to nonlocal problems like (-∆)s ʋ = µ in RN with vanishing conditions at inffnity. Here if is a bounded Radon measure whose support is compactly contained in RN N ≥ 2, and - (∆)s is the fractional Laplace operator of order s ϵ (1/2,1).

21 p, 387.2 KB On the density of second order differential equations without algebraic solutions on P2 / Falla Luza, M. (Institute of Pure and Applied Mathematics-IMPA (Rio de Janeiro, Brasil))
We prove that a generic second order diferential equation in the projective plane has no algebraic solutions when the bidegree is big enough. We also prove an analogous result for webs on P2.

Instituto de Matemática) ; Weissler, Fred B. (Université Paris 13) ; Centre national de la recherche scientifique (França). Laboratoire Jacques-Louis Lions
In this paper, we prove that if ψ is a radially symmetric, signchanging stationary solution of the nonlinear heat equation (NLH) u - ∆u = │u │ α u, in the unit ball of RN, N=3, with Dirichlet boundary conditions, then the solution of (NLH) with initial value λψ blows up infinite time if │λ - 1│ > 0 is sufficiently small and if α > 0 is sufficiently small. 10 p, 135.8 KB Corrigenda : "stabilization in H∞R(D)" / Wick, Brett D. (Georgia Institute of Technology. School of Mathematics)
In this corrigenda we outline the necessary changes to the paper [3] so that the main result in that paper is made correct. The mistake the author made in the previous version was that the condition that f1 being positive on the zeros of f2 was not strong enough ∞ to guarantee the existence of the logarithm in HR (D).
